Beginner's Corner Zoom Workshop Series

A series of nine monthly workshops walking you through the material on the Murphy Method New Beginning Banjo videos. It's the next best thing to live lessons.

Each month we will take one tune and work with it in all the ways I'd use in live lessons or in a camp workshop. You will need to already know the tune from the video lesson. I will not teach the tune itself! Then we will:

• Play the tune lick-by-lick and phrase-by-phrase (looping)
• Learn to count it off
• Learn the vamping to it
• Learn how to transition from the break into the vamping, and from the vamping back into the break
• Talk about how to attach the ending
• ...and possibly other things as they occur to me.
• There will also be time for questions.

Here is the schedule. Dates for individual workshops will be announced about a month in advance. Each will be held on a Sunday at 1:00 pm Eastern Time. They will be one hour long and will be recorded so you do not have to attend live. Everyone who is signed up will get a link to download the session afterwards.

You can sign up for the sessions individually ($20 each), or buy the whole series at a 10% discount ($162). If you buy the whole series any time after we've already started, you will get the download links for all the sessions we've already done, plus have the opportunity to attend future sessions live (and of course you'll get the links for those after they happen as well). When I get your registration I'll email you a Zoom link. It is not automatic--I do it by hand--so please be patient.
